Our Story

Welcome to the Born Again Athlete Family! BAA was born out of a love to create and bring people together. 

Believe it or not, the game taking America by storm dates back to 1965. The “Swinging Sixties” was a tumultuous and transformative decade in American history. It brought us the emergence of “Rock n’ roll” and the moon landing. Somewhere in the midst of what was a crazy decade, the game of pickleball was created in the town of Bainbridge Washington by pals Joel Pritchard and Bill Bell. One summer day, both men arrived at Pritchard’s home to find their family lying around not doing anything. Looking for something to do, Pritchard, Bell, and the family in tow headed to the property’s badminton court. Unfortunately, they couldn’t find a set of rackets to play with. Instead, they decided to play a game using ping pong paddles and a whiffle ball.

And… VOILA the game of pickleball was born.

Fast forward 58 years and a game born from two men’s simple desire to get their families moving off the couch continues to accomplish just that. 

Our first collection draws inspiration from the vibrant spirit of the 60’s and a game that continues to unite people of all ages. We firmly believe that every individual can embrace the essence of an athlete and hope this collection serves as a reminder of your limitless potential, for as the saying goes, “Legends never die.”
